Developing games of any type and level is difficult. Every game development journey comes with its own unique challenges, and our journey with March Life was no exception. As our first major project, March Life was an ambitious undertaking that sought to bring the vibrant world of marching bands to life on mobile devices as an online multiplayer game. While we initially faced delays in its release, these challenges have only strengthened our resolve and commitment to excellence.
During the development of March Life, we encountered technical hurdles and creative roadblocks that required us to rethink and refine our approach. Our team worked tirelessly to overcome these obstacles and will continue with March Life and a new definitive release date. Though the delay was unexpected, it provided us with invaluable insights and experiences that have made us stronger as a studio.
Improvements and Innovations
Our commitment to excellence means we thrive to not repeat our downfalls. In doing so, we have made improvements in our development process and technologies such as:
- Enhanced Development Processes and Communication: We’ve streamlined our workflows and communication to improve efficiency and ensure timely delivery of future projects using thorough project management skills and tools.
- Effective Team Formation: With March Life being our first major project, it lacked the initial team needed for success. Going forward, a project will not be greenlit until successful team members and other skilled persons are assigned or acquired.
- Successful Project Funding: We will make sure we have a plan to acquire or allocate funds for the project from concept to release.
- Creative Growth: We’ve fostered a culture of continuous learning and innovation, encouraging our team to push the boundaries of game design.
